That last bit in the kid's hallucination was my favourite bit: his hallucination about waking everyone is actually him trying to wake himself up. But ultimately he gives in when he sees two things he shouldn't and can't wake up: a sleeping baby and a dead person.

When I was a substitute, I had one golden rule for myself: Let sleeping students lie. They'd be awake if they didnt need the sleep.

This one time, I had a class of seventh graders and they all finished their busywork in less than half an hour, so I shut off the lights and told them to take a nap. The poor kids were out like lights. Only seventh grade, and they were that exhausted.

I once fell asleep at a small youth camp during choir and when I woke up, the woman in the front just smiled at me in such a heartwarming way. Seeing someone wake up is a very intimate thing y'all, don't ever forget that!

The sleep that you get so easily in history is not even comparable to sleep at night. I would always listen to my teacher just to sleep peacefully even for a good damn 45 minutes.

When we had “normal” classes at school sometimes I felt exactly like this, usually in math class. When this happened I tried so hard to not fall asleep, until I couldn’t handle it anymore. The cool thing about this is that my math teacher always was very compressive when this happened so he just left me to sleep. Normally I’ll wake up after 5 to 20 minutes and feel like new. If everyone was doing some activity I instantly started working on it as well, and if I lost the explanation my teacher would explain again to me. He’s pretty cool.
(Except for the guys who never paid attention to the class, if they fall asleep he would just tell them “go to wash your face, and come back quickly”)
